So who am I, exactly?
I’m Melanie! A self-taught designer and college dropout from a small southern town in the US (seriously the population is only 176 people and you STILL can’t get good wifi there).
Let’s start with some quick facts:
I started a lifestyle and design blog back in 2012 and “stumbled” into my first design clients through it on accident.
I freelanced on the side for a few years (mostly figuring things out and wasting time doubting myself) then went full-time in 2016 right off the bat with multiple 4-figure pricing.

+ If I am using Honeybook or 17hats is this course still beneficial?
The course is HUGE and not just about Dubasdo so yes, it will definitely still be beneficial. Especially because you can apply everything I teach about Dubsado to another CRM, and will be able to use all the templates, forms, client communication, etc and adapt them to whatever CRM tool you decide to use.
+ Does it matter which website platform I design on?
Not at all! Since we're not designing websites, we don't even talk about website platforms. Instead we're focusing on the tools and systems that support your website design process.
+ This is a big investment for me. How can I know it's the right course for me?
The best thing you can do is get really clear on your goals and understand what you want to get out of the course. What's top priority in your web design business development? Maybe focusing on your design skills would be most helpful for you right now. Maybe you want to focus on marketing so a social media course would be a better fit. But if you want your TECH, CLIENT COMMUNICATION and WORKFLOWS to get streamlined and organized so you have more structure and flow, Powerhouse is most likely the course for you :)
+ How does this course compare to similar courses on the market?
I'd say the BIGGEST difference between my course and courses that people tend to ask me about (like Kerstin Martin's or Paige Brunton's) is that PWD doesn't include ANYTHING about website design, Squarespace (which a lot of people know me for) or anything related to designing a website.
Some courses combine the 2 (design process and business), but in my opinion, Powerhouse Web Designer does a BETTER and more IN-DEPTH job by only covering systems and business strategies that save you time and help you increase your rates. This is a client management tool that builds efficiency into your day-to-day and helps deliver all important paperwork like presentations, intake questionnaires, contracts, invoices and proposals.
